Studies for a Blue Garden
Studies for a Blue Garden explores how we might create a ‘cybernetic ecology’ and uses the garden as a site to examine the relationships between public and private spaces, as well as our attempts at domesticating nature and technology.
Using a curated dataset of mixed open sourced images of domestic and formal gardens, an AI model (GAN) was trained on the interpretations of what a garden could be: its space, inhabitants, arrangements through the subjectivity in the dataset. The result is a hybridised entangled neural garden co-created with AI.
The artwork and video was used for Gwilym Gold’s album Blue Garden.
